“We support Indonesia in its work as the host country and the theme of the G20 Summit”.Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu made the remarks at a press conference held at the press center of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. This statement fully shows China's attitude at the G20 Summit, and also means that China will actively participate in the global affairs represented by the G20 after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

“Today, our word, our times, and history are changing in ways like never before.”The 20th CPC National Congress report pointed out that the hegemonic, high-handed, and bullying acts of using strength to intimidate the weak, taking from others by force and subterfuge, and play zero-sum games are exerting grave harm. The report also pointed out the defict in peace, development , security, and governance is growing. This is in line with the theme of "common recovery, strong recovery" set by the G20 Summit. The G20 is a major forum for international economic cooperation.  As an important member of the G20, China has always taken an active part in international economic cooperation and global economic governance, and worked with other parties to promote strong, sustainable and balanced growth of the world economy. China will make full use of the G20 platform to continue to play a positive and constructive role in strengthening international cooperation against the epidemic, promoting world economic recovery and safeguarding global food and energy security.

As close economic partners, Indonesia and China have been strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation in the economic sphere, which is also in line with Indonesia's selected G20 three pillars of health architecture, digital transformation and energy transformation. In July, Indonesian President Joko Widodo became the first foreign head of state to be hosted by China after the Beijing Winter Olympics. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway in Indonesia, a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative, is also nearing completion. Trade between China and Indonesia reached $95.7 billion from January to August, up from $74.2 billion in the same period last year, according to Chinese customs data. Among them, Indonesia's exports to China reached US $48.3 billion, up 31.8 percent year on year; China's exports to Indonesia reached US $47.4 billion, up 26.4 percent year on year.

Indonesia is the most populous and largest country in Southeast Asia. It is known as the "bellwether" of ASEAN, and its economic growth prospects are expected. Indonesia's economic fundamentals have remained strong despite the global crisis and downward economic pressure. Indonesia's inflation rate, at 4.9% in July, is relatively low compared with other countries in the region. International agencies predict Indonesia's economy will grow 5.4 percent this year and 5.0 percent next.Indonesia has been actively participating in the China-Asean Expo and the China International Import Expo hosted by China. China is also the second largest investor in Indonesia, investing 3.6 billion US dollars in the first half of this year.

The 20th CPC National Congress report pointed out China is committed to its fundamental national policy of opening to the outside world and pursues a mutually beneficial strategy of opening up. It strives to create new opporyunities for the world with its own development and to contribute its share to building an open global economy that delivers greater benifits to all peoples. This means that China will continue to provide more new opportunities for countries in Southeast Asia and beyond to promote economic growth and improve people's livelihood.

The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway is such a good example. It is reported that Indonesia's G20 will showcase the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway to the world. The Jakarto-Bandung high-speed railway, a landmark project of China-Indonesia cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, is jointly built by companies from both countries and connects Indonesia's capital Jakarta with Bandung, the country's fourth largest city. The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway will span 142.3 km and be officially put into use in June 2023. After completion, it will be the first high-speed railway in Southeast Asia. The convenient life and job growth brought by the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway to the Indonesian people will connect the people and enhance the friendly atmosphere between the two countries, which will also have a far-reaching impact on the future development of bilateral relations. It will also strengthen people's confidence in the Belt and Road Initiative, in China and in cooperation with China. The 20th CPC National Congress report pointed out China have pursued a more proactive strategy of opening up and the Belt and Road Initiative has been welcomed by the international community both as a public good and a cooperation platform. It is believed that countries along the Belt and Road will have a deeper understanding of the "Belt and Road" project, and more flagship projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway will emerge.

Of course, as pointed out in the 20th CPC National Congress ReportChina will make full use of the G20 Summit to push economic globalization in the right direction, promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, promote international macroeconomic coordination, and jointly foster an enabling international environment. At the same time, China is committed to narrowing the North-South gap and firmly supporting and helping other developing countries accelerate their development. It is reasonable to believe that China will continue to play a crucial role in the G20 summit mechanism to promote the building of a world of lasting peace, universal security, common prosperity, openness, inclusiveness, cleanness and beauty.
